Architecture Photography - Getting the Interior colors right

Updated: Aug 23

My job is to capture what the buyer sees so showing the space accurately is essential. One of the most important elements is color.

The camera does not see nearly as well as the human eye and gets confused with the competition of several color temperatures reflecting around the room. Especially in darker areas, the color turns grainy and shows a bad color.

In order to correct for that problem, I take one ambient shot and blend that with a flashed shot. The flashed shot creates one dominant color temperature while the ambient brings back the natural shadowing and highlights.

The buyer needs to accurately see the property so they can visualize their own furnishings in it's space.
